Wait? Another 50 Cent Game? Ughhh.

If you thought the first Dead Fantasy was amazing then words cannot describe what you’re about to witness.
That. Just. Happened. If that didn’t get your fan juices flowing I don’t know what will. Or maybe you’re just a walking, talking, lifeless corpse, I don’t know. Yes, Tifa just gave Hitomi a German suplex into a chunk of wall falling thousands of feet into an abyss. Then Tifa just had to go Drunken Master on us, which was completely random but incredible. By the time Kairi came in with two effin’ Keyblades I almost lost my mind. This part of the series was just a bit one-sided but I’m sure the DOA ladies will get their revenge combos in somewhere in the next five parts. Yeah. He says he’s making five more of these masterpieces. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to handle it.
I’m calling Lulu, Lei Fang, Paine, and Christie to show up in part 3.
Monty Oum is a genius.
About Time: New COD4 Maps, Baby!
Published March 20, 2008 Call of Duty , Xbox 360 , Xbox Live 1 Comment
If you thought Call of Duty 4 couldn’t suck up any more of your time, think again. On April 3rd you get four new maps: Creek, Broadcast, Chinatown and Killhouse for 800 MS Points ($10). The maps coincide with the release of the Call of Duty 4 Game of the Year Edition, which is pretty much the same game but with a lot more “This game won a lot of awards. Yeah, it’s that good.” on the cover. Oh, and the new edition contains a token that lets download the map pack for the great price of free.
Four new places to stab newbs in the chest? Sold!
Brawl Sells 1.4M in a Week (Fueled by Fanboy Impatience)
Published March 18, 2008 Super Smash Bros Brawl 1 Comment
Super Smash Bros. Brawl further proves the theory that if you starve a Nintendo fanboy long enough he/she will spend more money. According to Nintendo Brawl has sold a staggering 1.4 million copies in its first week, 874,000 of which were sold on the first day. Impressive? Yes. They also claim that it’s the fastest-selling game in Nintendo of America’s long history. “But what about Pokemon Diamond & Pearl?” I hear someone whine. D&P are counted separately, so stop whining.
I’m seeing Brawl hitting 2 million by the end of the month.
What if Nintendo actually spent marketing dollars on the game like Microsoft did for Halo 3?
Geek couture rarely impresses me. Plus, wearing a Triforce tee (I own two) doesn’t give you props with the common folk. See, that’s probably as far as I’d go, a Triforce t-shirt, because the average person has no idea what it is. I could tell them that it’s a gang sign from Nigeria and they would believe me. And if they do happen to know what it represents then I can call them a dork for knowing so much.
T-shirts aside, some guy who loves Brawl just a little more than the rest of us decided to customize a pair of Air Force Ones to acknowledge the greatest mascot fighter of all time. These are sweet, period. You can act like you don’t like them but you’re only lying to yourself. They actually look official until you realize that Solid Snake is on the back. I’m liking the Brawl logo on the tongue and the Master & Crazy Hands on the heels. Sure beats the Halo shoes.
Where the hell can I buy these?
Verdict: WANT.

February NPD: Nintendo, Sony and CoD4 Do It Again
Published March 13, 2008 Call of Duty , Devil May Cry 4 , NPD , NPDs , Nintendo DS , Nintendo Wii , Playstation 3 Leave a Comment
It’s “as you were” for the big three in February’s sales numbers. The Wii and DS run rampant like always and the PS3 beats out the Xbox 360 for a second month straight. Is this going to be a trend? Microsoft expect hardware shortages for another month or so. Hmm. I could have believed that back in January but I’ve seen plenty of 360’s in-stock recently. This is going to get interesting especially with GTA 4 on the horizon.
- Nintendo DS – 587,600
- Wii – 432,000
- PlayStation 2 – 351,800
- PlayStation 3 – 280,800
- Xbox 360 – 254,600
- PSP – 243,000
On the software side of things Call of Duty 4 keeps sniping ass even though Devil May Cry 4 was released in the month of February. I’m glad to see Rock Band stay in the top ten. Wii Play, not so much.
01. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Xbox 360) – 296,200
02. Devil May Cry 4 (Xbox 360) – 295,200
03. Wii Play (Wii) – 289,700
04. Devil May Cry 4 (PS3) – 233,500
05. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Wii) – 222,900
06. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (DS) – 205,600
07. Lost Odyssey (Xbox 360) – 203,600
08. Turok (Xbox 360) – 197,700
09. Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PS2) – 183,800
10. Rock Band (Xbox 360) – 161,800

Random J made me realize that I haven’t updated the site in about a week and a half. My apologies. I’ve been on spring break in Cancun with my buddies for a week and happened to return the day Brawl came out and my spring classes began. Yep, busy. But I’m back so watch this space.
Brawl is amazing. Diddy Kong is boss.
How am I gonna do well in class now that Brawl is out, you ask? I don’t have a freakin‘ clue.
And yes, that’s a picture me with a guy that has a Ghostbusters-looking proton pack of booze…on a boat.

If I was a drug addict then Call of Duty 4 would be my crack/cocaine. I love it so much that I completely ignored Super Mario Galaxy, No More Heroes and my Wii in general. Yes, I admit it, I have not played Super Mario Galaxy. Why? Because CoD4’s multiplayer is just that damn good. It’s not perfect though but that’s what patches are for, right?
Some of the notable ones are host migration, new Killcams, and a quick-mute option for blocking all those whiny pre-pubescent kids from your XBL headsets. From my playtime this weekend it’s all looking good.
[Call of Duty 4 Xbox 360 Patch it OUT by IAMfourtwozero]

I was a bit of a comic dork back in the day (not anymore) so I love it when superheroes get the motion picture treatment. Some of these movies tend to win (X2, Spiderman 2, Batman Begins) while others fail miserably (Superman Returns Daredevil, Catwoman, Spiderman 3).
I remember Iron Man being the shit. A superhero who’s really some rich jerk that’s drunk half the time? Yes, please! It’s funny to think he’s been one of the more forgotten superheroes, I mean, he has a sweet red armor, he flies, and he shoots lasers out his hands. What’s there not to like? Well, on May 2nd he can’t be ignored, and here’s why.
The closer we get to May the more this movie reeks of win. I usually refrain from judging movies by their trailers (I thought the S.W.A.T. trailer was so cool but it left a “meh” taste in my mouth) but this one builds up a weird feeling known as “confidence.” First, you have Robert Downey Jr, a wise-ass former alcoholic, playing Tony Stark (Iron Man), a wise-ass former alcoholic. How perfect is that? We have Gwyneth looking gorgeous in red hair as she plays Stark’s assistant Pepper Potts. Audioslave’s “Cochise” kicks in somewhere in the middle, which is always a plus. A dash of one-liners are thrown in here and there. Then, to top if off, Iron Man blows up a tank and walks away from the mess. He just walks away, man! Now after all that is there any way this movie won’t kick ass?
Color me excited but I’m still praying that they don’t mess this up. Either way it’ll be a great movie to kick off the summer with more Batman on the way.
Wait, am I the only one that found Superman Returns boring? Really? I would have fallen asleep in the theater if Kevin Spacey wasn’t so awesome.
